Uver Solís

Uver Solís born on October 13, 1923 in the province of Matanzas, Cuba. She studied drawing at the School of Education in Havana, under Domingo Ravenet (1905-1969). From Ravenet, she received her first rigorous lessons in drawing, color, and techniques used in watercolors and engraving. She undertook her first individual exhibit in 1945 at the Lyceum and Lawn Tennis Club in Havana. In 1946, she participated in the Modern Cuban Painting Exhibition in the Fine Arts Palace in Mexico City. Solís' works also participated in Havana at the Fine Arts Salons of 1953 and 1956 and in the 1951, 1953, and 1956 National Painting, Sculpture, and Engraving Salons in Havana. Uver Solís died on June 16, 1974 in Havana, Cuba.
